Yeah... I guess this semester just doesn't have enough interesting things for me to write about, compared to the previous three. I just completely forgot about this thing for the past couple weeks. Not much new to say about my continued adventures (...or stumbles into endless boredom traps, sometimes) here at SVU... but here's some random stuff.
Lately I've been really weirdly sick-ish. The strangest thing is that it's so inconsistent--normally when I get sick I feel sick all the time and then it goes away, but this time it's been on and off between sick and perfectly fine. Last Sunday night I got these nasty stomach pains; not as bad as a few times before when I had really bad gas (which thankfully went away after I laid down on my back for a while), but still bad enough to keep me from getting even a minute of sleep that night. Then around 6:00 in the morning, I threw up. At the time I thought it had been something like food poisoning (so I've been avoiding Subway since then), but then several days later, last Thursday night, the stomach pains came back. I did manage to get some sleep that time, but not much. And then, around 7:30, I barfed again. Seemed almost all acid this time (unlike the first time which was definitely made up of Italian BMT sub remains), with just bits of tomato and no other sign of anything I had eaten the night before. Really weird. The pains kept up for a short while afterward that time, but then went away just like the first time and I was able to get back to sleep.
There's been no more barfing since then, though I have gotten the stomach pains a couple of days (not as bad, and thankfully they've gone away before bedtime every time this week.) I actually had them earlier today, starting on the trip back from Wal-Mart on the shuttle, though they went away even quicker this time than they did the previous two times. I really have no idea what's going on, but I'm glad it seems to be getting better at least... let's hope I'll be back to my usual "stomach does not hurt unless I overeat massively, have too much gas, or there's something actually wrong" self again soon.
I've had a few weird dreams recently, too, which is a change from most of this semester (where I only had a few that I could remember at all.) They seem to include more characters from stuff I've watched/read than usual lately, since I had one that had Kirio Hikifune from Bleach in it (though she wasn't quite acting like herself) and another which sort of indirectly was about Medusa from Soul Eater.
Speaking of that, I recently ended up randomly watching all 51 episodes (...what an odd number) of Soul Eater. Just completely out of nowhere because I was bored over the weekend, and had seen one episode randomly during my spring break (they're showing it on Cartoon Network now.) So yeah... I ended up watching every single episode (aside from the one I'd already seen) on Youtube between Friday night last week and Tuesday this week. Actually ended up liking the series, especially Death (aka Shinigami, basically the Grim Reaper... and also a huge goofball most of the time, despite being basically the most powerful character in the entire series. XD) A lot of the characters ended up growing on me, actually... Black*Star (hyper ninja kid and user of 10x more variety in his attacks than anyone else in the series, pretty much), Crona (weird androgynous... guy? I think? it's hard to tell...), and oddly enough Mosquito (little old vampire dude who sucks blood through his nose! yeah he's such a minor character for the most part, but for some reason I liked him the most out of the new bad guys introduced in the second half) probably ended up being my favorites aside from Death himself, though pretty much everybody had their moments and I don't think there were any characters that I really couldn't stand. Some of the fights near the end got a little shaky compared to the earlier parts (parts of Death vs. Asura Round 2 when it was just... a lot of Death swinging a big-ass scythe and Asura dodging... and then everyone else vs. Asura afterward definitely came across this way, at least before Kid and Black*Star pulled off some more impressive attacks and started to actually do some damage to him), but overall I liked the whole thing. Even the sorta-abrupt ending (I would've at least liked to see more than a still frame of what everyone was up to during the credits... that way they could've had 52 episodes instead of the oddball 51, too. XD)
I'm slowly but surely working on the 31st chapter of Organization XIII: Fangirl Extermination Squad. So far there's a return to Kisaki's hometown and the introduction of several new characters (...who won't really have that big of a role in the story as a whole, more just in Kisaki's backstory... though they may appear again later on), as well as a few reveals of little bits of information here and there (like Estera's last name, what Kisaki's parents look like, and the fact that Kisaki's real name isn't actually Kisaki... though nobody knows what it is just yet. Including me, because I haven't thought it up yet. XD)
I'm also starting to work on the little pictures that I'll be drawing for people who won't be coming back to SVU next year. One is done already (because the person it's for is leaving VERY soon, I need to get hers finished first!), and I'll probably start on more after this one's done. And probably after I've at least put a dent in this Spanish homework I need to do before next Monday, and the book I need to start reading before next Tuesday. Still behind in Printmaking, though it's only due to not having an idea for the next plate right now--I've caught up on the color and black-and-white versions of my last print, which was a pineapple with tentacles. Just need to figure out something for the next one now...
And in completely unrelated news, the granola bars with yogurt on the bottom of them that I bought today are not quite as delicious as I hoped they would be, unfortunately. I probably should've gone with the fruit-and-nut or just plain nut versions instead, especially since I bought such a huge box of the things... oh well. They're not too bad at least, but they'd probably be better with milk than with Kool-Aid...

Ugh. Why the hell did I come back so early??
...wait, no, I know why I came back early... problem is, I haven't been able to get anything done and I haven't been able to see hardly any of my friends (even out of those who are actually here), so it turns out neither of those reasons for coming back early instead of just staying with my mom and little sister all week really work.
Basically... this year's spring break is turning out to be exactly what I was afraid last year's spring break would be. Last year I was so worried that I was going to be bored and have nothing to do and nobody to talk to the whole time... but instead it turned out to not actually be so bad, and I even ended up going on a trip to Devil's Marble Yard. This year, though, I thought this week wouldn't be too bad... and instead, I've been bored and lonely pretty much ever since I got back here, have barely seen any of my friends (even though a decent number of them are still here), and definitely haven't had anything to do, either homework-wise (thanks to people hogging up the art building all day, mostly) or otherwise. Oh, and the power was out most of the day yesterday, so I couldn't even do anything at home.
Moral of the story: people who tell you that things will just magically work out if you "think positive" are full of shit. Expecting things to turn out okay (even though every single thing is pointing toward them most definitely not turning out okay) is the #1 way to guarantee that they don't.
I'm also starting to wonder if I even have friends here. I mean, friends aren't supposed to just sit by and let their friends die of boredom, right? I thought I had actual friends here, not the "forget you exist the second you're not in their field of vision" type of friends I had before coming here...

Spring Break... not dead from boredom yet, but hasn't been anything super special either.
Yeah, this week is our spring break. Haven't done much so far... went home on Friday to see my mom and little sister for a while, and ended up staying there from Friday night until earlier today. Went target shooting yesterday and stocked up on food and such from Wal-Mart, then came back today. Other than that, didn't do a whole lot while I was back home.
Also did a little bit of forensic shiznit, since I was able to get the Easter basket from last year while I was back home. I compared the first of the little 3x5 card notes to the weird Valentine's letter thing that I got this year, and... they do not have the same handwriting, though there are a few similarities (how the two people write a lowercase E is pretty similar.) Not similar enough to say "these are from the same person," though, since several other letters are clearly written differently every time (lowercase Ys, Bs, etc.) and one of the two is somewhat less "cursive-like." Even though the writing does look vaguely similar overall, I don't think these came from the same person.
(Of coruse... I never found out who the heck the Easter basket last year came from, so that doesn't really narrow down the "who did the Valentine's note come from?" possibilities any. XD)
And finally, since I don't have much else to talk about... it's kind of disturbing to overhear people playing Smash Bros. when they obviously know NOTHING about the original games that all the characters come from. First of all, there was confusion on who exactly is Link and who is Zelda (only from one of the two guys playing... the other one pointed out who Zelda is and who Link is, thankfully!)... and then "Is Kirby a guy or a girl?" was asked as a serious question. To make that even worse, the other guy didn't know the answer!
He did at least know better than to get Red and Ash mixed up, but made the mistake of just calling the poor guy "Pokémon Trainer" as if he didn't actually have a name. That one is Smash Bros. Brawl's fault for mislabeling him that way, at least, but still... if you're going to put forth an effort to identify him as "not Ash from the crappy Pokémon anime," you should at least go all the way to the truth and know what the guy's name actually is.
And later on I heard someone exclaim, as if completely stunned by this revelation, "Meta-Knight's from Kirby!?" Yeah. I guess it's pretty obvious they've never played a Kirby game at this point. At least nobody was asking if Kirby was a goddamn Pokémon... I've only heard someone ask that once, but it seriously pissed me off the last time.
