Yep... now that these knees aren't bothering me anymore, apparently I can jog not just five but six Buena Vista city blocks in a row without stopping or completely exhausting myself. And adding it up in my head, I've figured out that if I just did that much every day, I'd make almost 3 miles in a week without any difficulty. Of course, I'm pretty sure we need either 4 or 4.5 miles by the end of this week... but hey, I've done more than 6 in a day before, even when I couldn't go more than 3 or 4 blocks straight without stopping, so I should definitely be able to pull this off as long as I don't get too distracted by other stuff.
In other news, the food here seems to be slipping a bit in overall yumminess. The things that were good before are generally still good (though sometimes the salad bar looks a little off; wilty lettuce and such), the problem is that they never seem to have nearly as much good stuff out there anymore. Just today, I ended up having to eat a sandwich for lunch and a plate of rice and french fries for supper because... the other food just didn't look very good. Well, there were these enchilada things for supper, but it wasn't clear exactly what was in them and they were sort of buried in an endless ocean of melted cheese, so I didn't risk trying one. Fortunately there's always something to eat, but it seems like they just aren't having the really good stuff as often anymore.
Painting class: still annoying! Well, this time it wasn't the painting so much as the way the assignment was set up... we had to go to some random parking lot and attempt to get a halfway-decent place to sit and paint something. That... didn't work very well. I did paint a really good eyeless, noseless polar bear in a snowstorm (aka blank white page), but that was it. I'll have to go back later and attempt to get that done some other day this week, since we don't have class Wednesday.
And last of all, I'm seriously considering asking Ruth on a second date sometime. I wasn't sure if I wanted to at first (kind of afraid it might seem weird to her if I ask again so soon after the first time, like I was trying to rush into a "real" relationship or something), but she really does seem to like me, and apparently she really enjoyed our first date (which I found out thanks to another girl I know, who just happens to be in the same math class as her.) Sort of thinking about asking her to come watch Kung Fu Panda 2 with me this Friday, since they're showing it here at school (and it's free!)... and possibly walk around for a while in Buena Vista or just around the SVU campus beforehand so we can have some time to just talk, since there's not much opportunity for that during a movie, heh. She's already seen it once if I remember right, but I haven't, and she's always trying to get me to watch movies that she likes but I haven't seen... so this might work out pretty well!
EDIT: Yep... turns out I sorta asked her on that second date earlier today after supper. Well, I didn't exactly call it a "date" this time, but I did ask if we could go and watch Kung Fu Panda 2 together this Friday (and surprisingly the question just kind of came out with no real effort... nothing even remotely like the three days of being unable to say anything that I ran into the first time!)... and it sounded like she wanted to but it depended on whether or not she gets all her homework done before then. She already started on it yesterday, though, so I figure she'll probably be done in time.
